Gateway 66

The scientist Teodora Teodori is trying to open a space-time portal to travel through the centuries, from prehistory to the future. In doing so, she hopes to solve the mysteries that science has not yet unveiled.
A discharge of 500,000 megawatts, caused by a lightning strike, disrupts the experiment and sends her spiraling into an uncontrollable vortex. Her assistant Luca, who is with her in the laboratory, is also hit by the discharge, which transforms him into a… Tauraco, a colorful African bird.
We will later discover that the scientist is trapped in a parallel laboratory—identical to her own—from which she can no longer escape. Fortunately, Luca the Tauraco manages to exit the laboratory, bringing with him a strange device, a bifocal chamber that allows him to reopen the space-time portal.
We also meet Anna and Gabriele, two students interning at the MUSE; the girl dreams of becoming a paleontologist when she grows up, while Gabriele doesn’t like dinosaurs at all.
Luca the Tauraco reaches the kids and hands them the visor that allows them to cross the space-time portal, in order to help him find the missing Professor Teodori. Anna eagerly activates the device, which transforms her into a cartoon… followed by her companion Gabriele and the paleontologist Marco, their guide at the MUSE. Unfortunately, the evil scientist Professor Drago also manages to follow them.

Episode after episode, Teodora Teodori tries to get in touch with the kids to lead them to the parallel laboratory where she is trapped. Alongside the fantastic adventures experienced by the protagonists, and the astonishing encounters with animals that lived millions of years ago—all historically accurate—we witness the schemes devised by Professor Drago, who wishes to alter the course of evolution.

The series, consisting of 26 episodes, was created by Gruppo Alcuni and directed by Sergio Manfio. It is a co-production between Gruppo Alcuni and Rai Kids, and was made possible with the scientific consultancy of the MUSE, the Museum of Sciences in Trento.
